Building of the Year 2019
On 2 January 2019, the new innovation building, LocHal, was opened behind Tilburg railway station (NL). Formerly a locomotive shed, the architects Braaksma & Roos and CIVIC architects redesigned the building to create a public library, as well as many different meeting and innovation rooms and spaces.
The material mix used is exciting – it mainly consists of oak veneered boards made by Kaindl in vivid S grade, which lives up to the creative dynamism in this building.
